Okay, I'll let you slide.....this time LOL

That load I described, was a Rent a Center. 3 pieces each. I was sitting at the first customer when they showed up, 7am. The last store that day, stayed open until 8pm.

Less than 250 miles that day...total. My day ended at stop 13, where I spent the night.

.25 a mile is pretty god awful. you'd have to drive 180,000 miles to make $45k in a year.

They really need to start doing IQ test before giveing you people CDL's.

    READ BEFORE YOU POST:

NEW drivers start at .25cpm for their first 90 days +.03cpm for fuel bonus
then it goes to .27cpm +.03cpm for fuel bonus
Then it goes to .29cpm + .03cpm for fuel bonus at 6 months
then it goes to .32cpm +.03cpm for fuel bonus at 1 yr mark

WE ARE A LTL CARRIER and get paid $20 per stop and our runs have 10-25 stops per run.

    Did you get that?????

Now retry your math, and insert foot in mouth!:biggrin_25522:

I've posted monthly miles, resets, days off, and income on both my blog and in my 1 year review of W/S on my YouTube Channel....

If your deliveries weren't so bulky I'd say a hydraulic lift at the tail of your trailer would make those LTL stops so much easier.

I wish! Our LTL stuff is all very light, the heavyest load i've ever heard of was 15,000lbs. But our problem with that would be our Backhauls, we do allot of Beer, flour, lumber, ect all very heavy stuff. Also i can only assume those things arent cheap and would also add more maintiance, so i dont ever see us getting them:biggrin_2557:

Then again if they got some NEW lightweight dry vans, with alloy rims, and skirts, with liftgates, the weight wouldnt be as big of an issue and the fuel savings of the new trailer would balance out the lift gates over time im sure.

I hated LTL. Did it with FFE. Most of the time only got the first stop on time some times two on time but the rest would be late because of poor appt. times and receivers standing around with their thumb up their ###. I would inform dispatch on every late stop and they just say do what you can and keep us posted. Only thing I can do is either sit there and wait to get unloaded or tell the customer to get the #### off the truck or I'm leaving because I have other stops to make. I'll never do LTL again. Its not worth the money. Most of the time one 1500 mile load is all you get in a week. The rest of your check is made of stops. You might pick up another load that week but can't ever get it done before payroll is cut off.
