    Howdy All,

Please let me start this post off by stating for the record that "I" am an electrical/electronic IDIOT.

The Radio/CD player in my truck has apparently died, I'd like to replace it, its easy to remove and I have done so, my question is this; do all replacement radios/CD players have the SAME wiring harness plug in connections or does one have to figure out how to splice the new unit into the old stock wiring?

Thanks for any information yu can share.

Since you say you are electronically challenged I suggest you take a picture of your power plug in the truck that plugs in to the radio. Go to Best Buy or any other full service radio shop. They should be able to sell you an adapter that will wire to your new stereos power plug. Then you can plug it in to your truck without cutting any wires. They will probably wire the adapter to your new plug for a small fee since you admitted that you are not skilled at this. It is really easy to do if you know what you are doing. All of this is available online cheap if you know someone who can correctly connect the adapter and your new power plug.

    Howdy Banker,

Thanks for your reply, it all makes sense. When it comes to ANYTHING electrical or electron, I learned decades ago that it way cheaper for me to pay someone who knows what they are doing then to pay them to fix my screw up after I have burnt the truck down.
