compared to a regular car, anything extra involved in installing an after market deck in a Volvo? I'm waiting to see me if my truck has a built in AUX input for my XM but if it doesn't i refuse to run it off the FM radio and will throw in a cheap wal mart deck. Do you need separate wiring harnesses?

If it doesnt have an aux port all you need to get is an adapter that goes between the antenna connection for the radio. Has a wire that goes to the xm audio out port so you wont have to be changing channels all the time. Just google "xm fm direct adapter" and you will see what im talking about.

Its not much more difficult to change then a car. I have a 2000 volvo 770. The hard part was taking the screw out of the back of the radio that bolted it down to the truck. had to go in above the radio threw the switch board that looked like an aditional radio slot.

To put the new radio in I took the wiring from the new radio and wiring from the old radio and soddered them togeather so it was as easy and pluging in, or unplugging should it need to be disconected in the future for repairs.

I too needed a radio with AUX. However I wanted the AUX in the rear so I did not have wires running across the front of my dash. and I did not want to run threw the ANT like I have for so many years always hated geting static and having to change the channel every now and then becouse of crossed signals. the ant route works but now that I have it in via the aux there is a noticable difference, granted it probly takes the quite inside of a volvo to realize it.

I ended up going with the kenwood KDC-BT952HD Its probly a bit high on the price range, but hey we listen to it 70 hours a week. It has the rear AUX, a USB (so now I just plug in my memory stick to listen to audio books), It has bluetooth, a mic so your radio can be turned into a hands free device.
