will be using a normal drip coffee maker, I can see an induction needing a pure sine since they are a bit more complex. Maybe I will ask a couple people which brands of microwaves they use.

I can watch the 'read-out' as my coffee is brewing, and my drip Mr. Coffee draws 850 watts peak. Never had a microwave, so can't tell you what they draw.

has anyone tried the cheap walmart ones like sunbeam? I know I can pick one up when I go with the family for our week shopping trip today. I will take a look at the Mr coffee pots, sounds like those can be handled with a 1500 easy if they only draw 850.

I ended up spending a little more, found a 1500/3000 that was on sale for $130 down from $190 and got a 6ft 2awg wire set, only issue now is that I have to go get a ground cable tomorrow since the set came with the neg and pos but the inverter has a ground wingnut on the back also. Also found a small coffeepot that uses 650 watts and got a 700 watt microwave so we will see how it all goes. I know getting the 6ft cable set will limit where I can install but I will try to find a spot behind the drivers seat.

Don't forget a fuse, it's a must have. Try NAPA.

will check that out tomorrow too, guessing that means I will need to splice into the cable? if its similar to a fuse block I used on a stereo system in the past then that wont be an issue, how many amps does it need to be?
edit found my answer, looks like a 300amp inline fuse would be best for mine -
lovesthedrive Thanks this.

ahh figured 300, I just need to go by the 1500 and not the peak of 3000?

Well not an expert, but smaller is safer. I'd go about 150, as long as your not maxing out the inverter you should be good.
