Would that work? I'd rather replace a mattress than a business.

Seriously though, can't receipts be produced? It seems simple enough. The IRS is easy to accept false receipts. Ask anyone that has ever been audited.

I just call it like I see it after 19 yrs in the biz.... If you would like, I could fawn all over the OP like the starry-eyed newbies with big rig dreams are doing.

Or I could point out the errors and mistakes of what not to do and how to do it correctly in a honest and blunt manner and just maybe someone else will not make the same mistakes, and the OP just might learn something....

Sure, but when the time comes it basically comes down to what you can "prove." I have "proven" some pretty outrageous things to the government. Remember, OJ is innocent.

Believe me, I know how out of the ordinary Pharm's approach to the wonderful world of being an O/O is, and he's (by his own admission) done some stupid things. However, constructive criticism would be the far better approach as opposed to coming in here completely unknown to posters who have read each others words for months and in some cases years and spout off like an <RUDE AND INSULTING COMMENT REMOVED BY MODERATOR>.

Is the deck stacked against him? Sure, I think it is, but that doesn't mean the guy is absolutely going to fail. Strong willed and determined people can accomplish a lot, even in this business.

For the record, I don't advocate doing anything wrong. I've run pretty hard in my upstart to catch up financially. The rest is just some damage control. I'm learning as I go and all advice is welcome.

But, it's customary to build some sort of a reputation for a while around here before criticizing. Giving tips, advice, weighing in on difficult situations is all helpful. But really, any first week CDL student can say obvious things of the variety such as "run legal" etc. Trucking right now is complex with freight rates the way they are.

A couple/few months ago I never would have believed the real truckers here would ever stick up for me. I am truly grateful and touched. :biggrin_25520:
