Good point, Luv. I don't think the issue is whether you TRY to pay or not. Obviously, the only ethical thing to do is TRY. If you have no real plan to execute though...it might be best to pay for a few months while you develop a plan. If still none exists, get help. If there really is no plan that is realistic, save everyone some time and money and pull the B word trigger.

Anyways, that is my take on it. Of course, I am only talking about 100% unsecured debt.

Understand where you're coming from. The "B" word was never an option for me. It was my debt and I paid it. Plan or no plan I knew that I owed the money. What I have a problem with is that there are people who do that and not just once. Multiple times. And they then can get credit and about anything they want. I did the "right" "moral" "ethical" thing and I can't finance a candy bar. Probably forever. That's why my truck is still sitting in my driveway. Now, I do want anyone reading this to know that I am NOT whining about it. It just seems to me that doing what's right isn't anymore...
