lmfao... you sound like me. I think I've made that exact post a few times

 

I tried the to "do the right thing", until a process server showed up on my doorstep serving a summons to appear from the credit card company! My bankruptcy (bankruptcy started way back before I even started this adventure) lawyer told me that since they changed the rule that you cannot file bankruptcy again for 7 years (used to be 2), you are more likely to get credit cause they know you cant file again. When I was laid off I was only able to pay part of the credit card bills and personal loans, I explained to my creditors my situation and that when I was employed full time again I would start paying the full amounts again. I never avoided their calls was always polite and explained my situation every time. Guess what... they dint give a F&^K! Still blind sided me with the lawsuit. So if you have a lot of debt and cant pay your credit cards or other unsecured bills now or likely for a while in the near future I would suggest bankruptcy. I would not do it unless you have a large amount.

Both my wife and I lost our jobs, she actually got part time work, even with my trucking company were are still making about 25% less than before and that might not even cut it. We may lose our house if things dont pick up. Not to discourage anyone, our house payment with taxes is about $3000 a month, which is a lot for a blue collar guy, I live in California and housing is (was) expensive.

 

Should I ask you to explain that or maybe not? LOL

 

So, please correct me if I'm wrong, but the people who really are trying to do the "right" thing and pay off their debt or work with creditors are being penilized for it? I'm tired of saying "right" "moral" "ethical" by now as it seems that those words aren't even in the dictionary anymore. So getting down to brass tacks... all of us who tried everything we could are screwed. Am I correct?

I don't want to get into a lot of this and ruin a great thread so I guess I should have a thread on credit or should I not???

PS I'd much rather talk about trucks or shoes LOL

 

My opinion: Your exactly the kind of person a venture capitalist is looking for. Have you ever heard the term "angel investor"? If you have a big rig that can move but is stuck because of financial reasons, there is often times a person who can help.

 

I talked to Pharm. He should be at home by now. He got un-loaded and was dead heading home.
