Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but mine's still new since I've never gotten the truck up to 88 :biggrin_25526:

I'm hoping I'm just noticing it too. But, the problem with that is that I'm losing electrical services now as it gets lower, so I really don't think it's ever dropped that low.

The roadside guy did hook up to the alternator, it was putting out 13.7. Said to get the batteries checked when I could.

I'm not going to try and fix this myself, but my main worry is getting a 10 hour bill for $800 and being told they couldn't find it.

Well, then there's your problem. Flux capacitors are like parking brakes, you gotta use it or it'll seize up on you.

that's exactly the problem. Taking a truck in for electrical problems is like handing them a blank check. They could spend 40 hours looking and still never find it.

the freightliner I drove for Arnold would do that. driving down the road and out of the blue it would shut off. sometimes for 5 or 10 seconds (10 seconds is a long time with no power or power steering at 65mph) and sometimes just for an instant then right back to running. that truck only had 30k miles on it

I think he is failing to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity needed, must be the alternator, he needs to find a plutonium based alternator.

check the big nut (3/4) on the starter with all the wires on it they tend to loosen also the ground ecpecially the big braided copper one that goes from the engine to the frame with no insulation as they corrode and don't ground very well or it could be bad battery cables
