23000 is in the ballpark for that. My '02 was 25k after all said and done. Mileage is of course the other big factor. Mine had 600k. If the one you're looking at has a million then try to get it wayy down. But I don't know how you win that one though since it will probably need a 10 or 15k overhaul VERY soon.
well the one in orlando has 866,000 miles on it but just had an out of frame done with paperwork to prove it from cat 150,000 miles ago. the truck is in prestine condition from the pics with all new rubber (rears could be recapped didnt say) and brakes are at 85% according to the paperwoork they sent me they want $23,000 for that one
As for the other one that i might go test drive tommorow it has 1.1 mil on the odo. no rebuild done good tires but overall in rougher shape same year but in black the other was in white and they want $29,900 whuch is a no brainer but like i said i just want to take it for a spin since its close by and im going in that direction anyway Oh and both have 3406 cat with 18spd gear boxes i forgot to mention
That sounds like a good 'un. An out of frame almost seems like beyond the call of duty. Really great if you're pretty sure they actually did it. My truck has recaps But they've been doing fine.
GONG on that truck lol. But wow, a 379 with a cat eh? Well you definitely won't catch any flack for that around here.
yeah thats what i said hell the rebuild was 14,500 alone the sales men told me its been sitting on the lot for awhile thats why its so cheap but it just goes to show how the trucking industry is doing from what the guy told me it used to be a bull hauler and the op babied his trucks he traded this one in on a new 389
no kidding i dont know what i would do if i drove a 379 with a cummins, maybe a detroit 60 series but cummins idk cummins is a good motor dont get me wrong but just doesnt seem to fit the 379 for some reason. what motor u got in urs again i'm going thru a brain fart and cant remember?
now if i can figure out what i wanna haul id be set.... i got the credit to rent a trailer so getting stuck with one is not a prob I'm leaning in to a hopper or a reefer. Hoppers are all over the place around here and they seem to be moving pretty good as for reefers not that great I seen 3 just sitting in a field. I asked the owner and he said they havent moved in a week (he was sitting out front working on one of them half crocked with about 10 empty beer cans on the ground...I swear lol)
Its funny...reefers are doing as well as the person who you talk to says they are. Different response for every person. I chalk it up to reefers being just like everything else that isn't CHRobinson right now. Worse than usual, not too horrible.
