Yeah, I was just teasing, I expect MM is doing what he has to do, maybe he got a good freightshaker :biggrin_2554: because I bet he's planning on a comeback in a 359 when he can get er done.

Just left Bill's Truck Stop. Got my used tire and a clutch adjustment. $230 or so after tax.

I'm a little worried that I lost most of my play. I got the new clutch installed in April. Doesn't seem I should be due. Even so, I always pull heavy and often start in 2nd gear on flat ground. Maybe it's my fault.:biggrin_25511:

I just hope there isn't something further up the line that's throwing clutches.. that would suck:biggrin_2551:

Still need wipers! But that rain-x is pretty amazing too. It's been raining for the last 20 hours straight it seems.

Like I don't feel enough like a traitor..... My poor dad is spinning in his grave when I signed those papers.

I need to get a roof up to work under. then I'm tearing her down to the frame and starting from scratch

    PharmPhail,

Just to take your mind off your clutch....

Stuck on hold this afternoon and I reread some of this thread. What ever happened to the Straw/Not Straw purchase you, your truck dealer (don't want to confuse anyone :) ), and his driver were arranging.

RainX is nice. But sometimes when it starts to wear down, it does so in a hurry. It will wear down way faster in the big truck than it did in your car.

    Just curious.

MM, I know at this point its probably just speculation, but if it works out and that Fruitshaker lands you back on top of your game, and your able to get ol' blue back in top form, do you think its possible that you could look back and see Pharm as the one that made it all possible by coaxing you into that shaker !!!

It sure looks like its working out, and when it does I bet you'll wanna show ol' Pharm your appreciation, maybe have a nice mural with some dancing hippos painted on the back of your sleeper.

Fair question. Yeah it's really odd what the banks do. They basically and literally tell you who you can and can't hire with their process. If someone with no experience buys a truck, then the person they are "hiring" to drive the truck also has to have good credit, or could at least have gotten approved on their own. This is obviously much easier said than done. Tried two drivers and neither could satisfy the bank. It was really pretty ridiculous to even have to ask them to do it. At one point I even asked my X-stepmother's new boyfriend who had a CDL for years. Trying to explain to him that they need to run his credit, to approve me for a loan, but it won't be in his name or have any consequence, well the whole thing sounded so absurd I felt like a liar even pitching it. Anyway he wasn't about to get involved at that point. I didn't blame him.

Anyway, I'm a little slow on the uptake, but the pattern got pretty easy to bust after a month

selectrucks: "We can't work with anyone with less than 2 years experience, sorry."

Bank 1 at new dealer: "Sorry, you don't have 2 years experience"
Bank 2: "If only you had a couple years experience"

Bank 3: "How much experience do you have?"
    Me: "10 years"

    Approved

Rob.... when the eventuality of having to get a new trailer comes around, have you found a new place to rent one?

I have 2 backups right now, both expensive, but I also may need more than 1 trailer here in a bit. :biggrin_255:
