It's not hard to get your authority and everything else that goes along with it. Just takes time, patience and a credit card. You can pay some of these people out there to do all the paperwork for you, but I wanted to know and learn, so figured doing it myself was the best (and cheapest) way.

Thanks y'all. It's a good thing I had a crowbar with me to get the seat outta my arse.

We don't want to lease on to one of them companies, we probably can't, we live in BFE west TX and most won't hire from here anyway.
That being said, I give you both all the props in the world for what you are doing. I don't want this to come across as snobby or condescending. We've got money in the bank as well. We could absolutely buy an $8500 truck outright. However, we've been driving junk equipment in the oilfield for the last year or so. It makes you realize some things. I'm driving down the road the other week, I got one hand on the shifter, it rattles so bad it makes you wanna scream. I've got my foot propped up on the clutch because is rattles so bad it makes your ears wanna bleed a little. I've got a death grip on the steering wheel because the steering is so loose it's scary with 7-9 inches of play in the wheel. The hood pops, creaks, groans, and cracks. On top of all that the stereo doesn't work. So it's just me, alone in the silence with the rattles, pops, creaks, groans, and cracks.
I'm afraid getting into the $8500 range, we'll start getting trucks with those kind of issues. I couldn't do it, my head would explode a little. -
Crow- I am glad you kept the truck upright. You will have better days. I am glad no one was injured.

Thanks Wayne. There was a mailbox and a yellow and black bridge marker sign that suffered a loss, as well as some tree limbs. Other than that, no lives were hurt. lol
