I think ya'll need to get the hell out of the hopper biz. It don't pay enough, its a line of work that is hard on equipment. And all just tearing #### up cause you don't know what your doing. Iwpuld bet that running down the road pulling a at bed or van 90% of the crap rob tore up never would have happened.
Although my truck appears to be in much better shape then the one you describe, I fully know the risk I'm taking with a low-dollar high miler. My goal is to trade up within the next year, but knowing full too well mechanical issues are far to eager to show themselves. I did just get a fresh annual inspection and full service the other day, so I'm hoping for the best!
Been thinking the same thing, all those side roads through the hills, mud, sand etc take their toll. Rob needs a reefer.
Eh, i know everyone says get a cheap truck so you can make more money, but it seems like i'd rather have an expensive reliable one with a warranty.. At least you can plan on having a high payment every month, sometimes a breakdown can't be planned for, even if you have a crapload of money saved up you are still losing when you sit in the shop.. any thoughts on this? When i buy a truck im planning on getting one that i actually like.. i can't do the cheap truck route.
I understand your logic completely. It's the flip side of getting a cheap truck. Just not the route I wanted to take. I know it's a roll of the dice. I actually like the truck I bought, but a newer truck within a year is how my plan plays out. Time and miles will tell....
