well PharmPhail, Gotta hand it to ya'. You started a heck of a thread here. I started on page 1, got to 14 and saw that its at WOW 459? I was gonna wait till I got further to post but I want to say I admire you for starting what I envisioned myself doing. Don't know yet though, long road ahead. Starting out with no miles and so nothin' to lose. I just wanted to say hi to everyone. Been reading for 5hrs. How long does it take to read 444 more pages?

Rob hasn't posted lately. Take it in pieces and read the whole thing. You might not be quite as ready to jump into this business as before...

I'm already dedicated to it, there's no way I'm not going for it. Just plenty of ways to fail at it. It'd just be another experience that didn't work out, but I doubt it'll turn out that way. I love the sights, been stuck in the ghetto's too long. I'm at peace on the road.

    slabrunner Thanks this.

he's probably trying to play catch up.. things got really bad for him when his truck went down.. he still had bills and he was at a stand still for awhile until he started running team with HIGHWAY, which probably helped him keep his head above water, but he still has alot of catching up to do.. bills dont go away because work slows down..

YOu are right. I'm considering renting from RYDER. They charge $400/week plus 8 cents per mile and you have to have $5000 cash deposit. You also can get their insurance that costs $20/day, and that's not the only insurance you need, it just pays for the repair on their equipment, I believe. Still its a good way to go if you can make substantially more than the $2500/month plus fuel costs, etc. But you don't have to worry about a breakdwn like Rob was confronted with in this part of his thread.AND he could have been driving a 2 yr. old truck with an automatic tranny, which I'm pretty sure we all believe would have been his best option since he didn't know SHAT about shifting when he started with the SUPER 10.

if you ran 500mi a day for five days, that's a $2400 monthly truck payment with out a trailer.. why not jus buy a truck with warrenty for that price that you could/would eventually own?

no credit, I do however have the $5000/down for the rental. I wish that same $5000 would get me into a new truck. Tell me where and I'll do it today.

probably wont get a new truck with $5000/down but you should be able to get a nice select truck with some type of warrenty.. from the ads in the paper it seems like they're handing them things out almost as easy as dryers loose socks!!! but then again you said you dont have any credit so i dont know how that'll work out with you.. worst case scenario, you call and ask, and they do an app over the phone, and you get turned down. at least you'd know you aint miss out on anything.
