Mostly I've been busy catching up though. Had to get this load from VA to NM basically overnight, and the trip from ATL to home to the trailer to the load was a lot longer endeavor then I had hoped.
Well I'm in NM now, all went pretty well. Oklahoma is going through some kind of DOT crisis right now, there is a scale or ad-hoc rest area stop every 30 miles or so going west. We were stopped at one of them and scolded for using my MC and his DOT on the truck, came back "fail" in the computer. Anyway they spared us the ticket but made us change it. Apparently it has to match, but no one for the life of them has had a good explanation why includin the DOT officer. Both numbers are good and accurate, but I guess that's the way they want it. The next scale also had us bring in the registration... this paper tag costs a lot of time. He didn't get an IFTA cab card for some reason, just a receipt and the stickers. Luckily I have mine with me, and the DOT seems to be satisfied seeing that, probably not noticing it doesn't match up. Not sure how he didn't get the card, everything was done that needed to be.
I don't know if I missed it in the dark or what, but I made it all the way to Albequerque and didn't even see a single scale in NM, so I don't know how this permit thing is supposed to work. I'll be on my way out in a few hours.
Got another load after this from Redmon, UT to Dover AFB in Delaware. Delivers Monday but should be pretty easy driving between the two of us.
I don't have any batteries for my camera which sucks, need to get some pics up of the new truck and me and the other driver.
This truck is kicking butt, very comfy and strong. All new rubber and brakes, looks impressive going through the scales.ampm wayne and dino6960 Thank this. -
Back when i was driving for a hot shot company we never got NM permits lol. We didnt have ifta either lol. But the other day i saw one of there trucks with a ifta sticker now.
Not sure what the repercussions are in NM for not have their permit thou. -
Sounds like things have settled down and you guys are doing fine. Glad to hear it. Enjoy the warm weather down there...they're predicting a rain/snow mix Friday night for Western Iowa/Eastern Nebraska. Too early for that!
Take care and be safe -

Wow & I thought the N.M. scales never closed, at least on 40. Shows ya what I know.
Very kool that you got through there w/o spending any extra cash.
AZ. is the only place that I have been asked to show proof that the IFTA stickers are mine via card.
Glad you guys got something else lined up to get out of there with. -
Was that along I10 going into AZ from NM by any chance? Hate that place.
