Jarhed1964, were you interested in Watkins & Shepard? They are hiring. As a matter of fact, 'bout 2 weeks ago, they were disparately looking for regional drivers outa Conover.

 

Actually, I was sniffing around. I'm self-employed right now in a different industry (course, if it keeps going the way it is, I wont have ANY business...), but I called WS about a week ago. Too long out of a truck. Not to mention, I have a company that I worked for that is no longer verifiable. Long story, but the jist of it is that I ran for them, they refused to pay me. I sued them and won. They put the trucks on their uncles company, suspended their license, and are walking. CA Dept of Labor and the Labor Relations Board will only seize bank accounts that the company opened. They will not go for personal property or accounts owned by the owner. And of course, they don't answer their phone. Not sure I would want them to anyway. They'll get theirs, trust me, I still have tricks up my sleeve.

(Disclaimer: No, I did not just threaten the owners of the company in any way. That was a figure of speech)


BTW, if/when I do get back into a cab, it will be for a buttload of miles. Not interested in regional because I probably will have a harder time getting to 3k miles avg per week, which is how much I'd need at a good mileage rate to make ends meet.

 

Both 10 & 40 going west. Coming back out of CA. in AZ. they didn't much care if I remember right. Been awhile though since I have been in CA. If I go that far, usually try to turn around in PHX & go back east.

todays ad venture,well seems im tired of crawling up and down the maryland and west virgina mountains but the only load i could get (and its kind of funny) is down to fort lauderdale ,so after being out for 2 mths ill get to spend a weekend home and introduce my self to the wife and and whats even funnyer is my drop is 4 miles from the house lol no to find a place to hide the truck for the weekend so it dont get towed ,and ill know if i have a load from ft laud to montgomery al in the moreing after the drop if so its not far so ill swing buy and pic it up and set for the weekend and haul butt sunda after noon works out good to cause the trucks due for a service and my guy only charges $170 bucks filters included so hell come do it saterday at the house,,just a few short weeks left dmn where did the time go

Not sure what your point is but if you are refering to them recognizing the MC/DOT# I highly doubt it. When I went through he glanced at the scale and waved his hand over his shoulder for me to roll on.. never even looked at the truck...
