Sometimes I truly just shake my head and wonder........you spent WAAAAAAAY more on diesel being in lower gears than you saved on tolls.

Just the other day the shape of the US highways around Chicago were justification enough to get bent over by Illinois for tolls.......WTF???

Now you begrudge West Virginia a bit of revenue for their toll road.....which is worth every penny......at least last time I was through there it was.

    Live and learn............hopefully.

When trying to decide whether to take a road that you've never been on, Google Maps is your friend. Click the terrain view button... Does the road look like a snake writhing in pain? Does it look like a magnified view of the surface of your 113 year old grandma's chest? If so, it'd probably be best to stick to the highway.

Well hopefully you at least stopped somewhere and got the shirt to go with your new been there done that got the shirt to prove it! :biggrin_2559: I made that mistake years ago because a friend had been told by another driver it was a good road to travel and he ran it so he figured he'd do it to me. That's ok cause i got a couple other guys on it too! :biggrin_255:

Yeah, not a fan of toll roads, but that one is definitely worth the hassle versus what the side roads must have been like.

But that brings up a question, you always hear about this guy or that guy who runs coast to coast & NEVER goes down the roads with a scale house or that are tolling. How???

Maybe in the midwest you can get away with that stuff, but west of 25 in the Rocky's & out on the east coast it would have to be close to impossible. Some of the exits off those mountain roads alone need to have a skull & crossbone symbol above the exit number/street name.

Good luck with the truck tomorrow!

Bein' home is a nice change once in awhile, and I showed up to a spotless house and no "to-do" list! I'll probably be in shock for awhile :biggrin_2559:

Hope the pic above posts, it was taken back when the truck was still clean. I've been holding off with a recent pic because it's a rolling mud hut!!

No bashing from me. I drove one for a few weeks and have little to complain about. That's probably because I didn't have it long enough:biggrin_2559:
