instrument cluster on volvo 2007

    clusters lights goes on and of while diving also when lights goes off the vollts num goes up to 20v cheak the voltage at alternaor ad its good14.5 or so should i look for new cluster or look for loos wire allso when i bang on the deshboard the lights comes bake on volts goes back to normal then sometims it shows 16 or 17 volts any help would be appricated tks

    Had the exact same problem on my 07, high volts,lights would go out. bang the cluster would be back to normal for a while. tried everything, eventually changed cluster 2 years ago now, no more problems.

    I have disassembled these clusters and removed printed circuit boards. held up to a lamp and repaired them by soldering telephone wire between burnt out circuits. There were more burnt circuits than dash lamps Then check connections for tightness.

    thank you very much guys i will look around to see if i can repair my cluster because new one is quite expensive

    Have thesame probelm i drive with a rubber hammer next to me to fix the probalem. Let me know what worked for you if you ever get it fixed. These clusters are super expensive and hopefuly theres a cheap fix.
