Why is it that some places on this form I have insufficient privileges to post anything?

We all get that from time to time.

The mods have decided that whatever thread it is time to put it to rest.

    Don't stress about it.

Even when I can't see any threads at all in a certain subcategory?

Oh. Well... there is one area I am not allowed to participate in on this forum which happens to do with the 420 strike. Ive made my position pretty clear and it would serve no one for me to run wild in that subject. So it's something that is not a issue at all. I don't worry about what I am not allowed into.

There is one forum section pass worded and it's unmoderated.

The Insufficient message at the bottom of the thread is also in addition to my previous first post thought, it's also a good way to "Thread Ban" someone who might not be suitable for the situation. The Mods will be able to talk to you plain without BS if you seek to really know the intent.

If you can be more specific about the threads that you're having trouble posting in, we can help you more. As already mentioned, if you're getting the 'Insufficient privileges to post' message, it's likely that you're trying to post into a thread that has been closed.

If that's the case, you should see a little padlock at the very top and bottom of the thread. Admittedly, those locks could stand to be a little bit bigger. Also, at the bottom of the thread you will see a line that reads:

Thread Status: Not open for further replies.

This is a little different, in that you're likely trying to see something in one of the password-protected forums - Politics or Unmoderated. For those, you'll have to type in the password:

    thickskin

Other than that, we occasionally move a thread out of sight instead of deleting it. If you've previously posted in a thread and get that message when trying to get back to the thread, that's likely what is happening.

That was very informative. Thank you. I will see if that works.
