Good luck , I think you may be shocked at the price . Me personally think a little more life experience is needed for a adventure like this . If you can actually find someone to insure you than good luck .
JoeyJunk, ProfessionalNoticer and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
I think that 2013 might be a bigger issue as far as operating expenses go
Some earlier trucks had a lot of def issues and seems I heard that 2012-13 years were some of the worst but not 100% on that as it’s second hand info -

What I was told this will just force rates up for everyone because the higher risks by the actuary tables. -
Not being a jerk at all as I’m glad to see a young person attracted to this industry….but your e-commerce experience really isn’t a huge advantage for you. Trucking is brutal. Nothing but trucking experience will prepare you for the BS that comes with this. I appreciate your confidence but with that comes disappointment.
As said here, your insurance even if you can get any will be absurdly expensive. I just got started in November. 40 years old with almost 20 years experience and I’m still paying over 17K. Quotes as high as 34K. Progressive was the only one that I could go with.
Your truck year choice is also bad. This is where that experience with trucks comes in. Sometimes it’s hard to find information on a site this big but there are numerous threads and posts on that model year and others around that time.
Reading and studying is great but nothing compares to real world experience. Trust everyone posting here as we all have found this out, some of us the hard way including myself.
Best of luck to you.
