When it comes to leasing a truck with a company with their forced dispatch and cpm pay, I fully agree. The only way I see a lease succeeding from all I have read is at % of line haul load board company and you pay the lease directly or SNI's IC lease. Either way, the load board has to have enough profitable freight throughout the entire lease until you own it. You need the control to choose your freight to keep your own income stream positive. Also, you MUST pick the right truck, new or old, a bad truck kills you. Any lease seems can fail at a moments notice if the driver is not prepared.

In oh so many ways, those insurance companies control what we can and cannot do. Sad, isn't it?

I would just start driving for a company, then when you need to take off for farming, tell them you need to be home ... Tell them for how long. If you like them, you can re-apply if they won't give you a extended time off, or try another company after your done with your farming needs ...

Most companies ask for a certain amount of "recent" experience, but it does not have to be consecutive ... Like two years in the past three, or something like that, they will want you to explain your "un-employed" weeks ...

If you go to your own choice of driving school, then there is not much a carrier can do if you choose to leave, but if you go to the carriers school and then leave in a short time, they can charge you for the schooling ... Know in advance what you will be signing and agreeing too.

Well it's winter and I don't think they will look for it. Same with my brother. He's 16. I'm already have 4 months of experience OTR. Worked for a trucking shop less a month. Quit because they lowered my rate.

put a inexperienced driver in control of 80,000lbs and they injury or kill somebody they WILL be out multi millions. not your money there's. as i was driving down a residential street today i came to realize how quickly things could go wrong and my truck would CRUSH any 4-wheeler that pull out in front of me and I'm not able to stop. that real life . not ######## at my keyboard.
