I started working for FedEx Freight and been on my own last 3 nights. I got called into work early tonight and was told that I can no longer drive for them because of a accident I was involved in on 08/23/16. I called my terminal manager he told me that they can use me for outbound dock if I wanted to do that. I asked him if we can sit down tomorrow and talk about this because I don't understand why none of this was done before I came on. I been driving and working for them for 2 weeks and none of this made any sense.. I would have never left my previous company.
I pulled up my MVR just a few minutes ago. I have NO points. I have NO tickets, Just that one accident over a year ago.
The accident was classified as rear end accident. I was in the left lane passing a accident scene with emergency vehicles on the shoulder. A car passed me in the right lane as we were passing the scene and then cut me off causing me to hit her. Again I was never issued a tickets and caused no damaged to company equipment the car was towed away and the driver claimed she had whiplash.
interesting

Yeah, Thats why I'm completely lost about it all. I had everything on my application. They done the background check and everything, Put me to work and took it right away... Really confused on it all. -
I'm sorry to hear, I think it's total bs on their part but consider it a blessing, fedex is one ltl company I personally would never work for. They have too many divisions, contractors etc and when I was otr, they were the guys always wrecked on its side for whatever reason. I worked for them in college as a package boy and their whole operation just seemed not polished if that makes any sense
speedyk Thanks this. -
I’m thinking they hired you before HR did the full background check. Everyone is so short of drivers, once it caught up to you, the manager was given no choice. That sucks balls. I doubt you have any legal recourse unfortunately.

Huh. That's really ####ty on their part. Sorry to hear that.

Rear-end bandits are the most infuriating drivers. Often out for a buck, drifting into a lane to go fishing. I'm buying a dashcam first thing if I ever get hired.

Yea they do their verifications late. I’ve been with them going on 2 months and I filled out the prior drug test reporting authorization form a couple weeks ago. They put you in a crappy situation for sure though. I’m sorry to hear about it. They never should of hired you if that was going to be an issue.
