    I try and maximize my earnings every day that I'm out on the road away from home. I don't need to make much as my bills are very small.

    When I pulled cans I had a goal of $750-$800/ day. Since pulling tanks I'm much higher.

    My goal per day is $1000 and I reach it all the time pulling dry box... the problem with rates is a lot of guys don't know what a good rate is and when the broker says "what do you need to make that 800 mile run work"... then jimbob comes off with some crazy low rate and the broker jumps on it

    There's the difference in pay. I dont drive 800 miles in a week and we dont have brokers. Im contracted to a company and am only able to pull under their authority. So the minimum dollar per mile theory doesnt apply here.
