    Hello all,

I met with a good local school and am looking to start my journey behind the wheel with a CDL.

I worked for a short while delivering packages for FedEx Express. Express has a proprietary internal driver rating system (can't remember the name of the system) that tracks acceleration, hard braking, cornering, etc.

I left Express not knowing my driver rating in their system, but my extensive rural route required me to accelerate hard and hustle between stops to get my route done on time, which probably counted against my rating. Can a company I'm applying to somehow see this driver rating information?

Have friend call or email your employer and see what they tell him about you.

Not being called in to be coached about your driving habits is a good sign.

EVERY CDL SCHOOL will ALWAYS tell you now is great time to get started in trucking. The industry is about the slowest it has been for a very long time. DO NOT GO TO CDL SCHOOL if you don't have a job lined up and waiting for you when you finish school. TOO MANY DRIVERS are waiting and waiting for a job right now. THERE IS NO DRIVER SHORTAGE. NO. DRIVER. SHORTAGE.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.
