How often people hit inside of your trailer while loading or unloading? It happens too often this year that I believe it's on purpose now. Maybe they want me to leave.
I just don't get it why.
I fixed some of it last Sunday, and then today again someone went over it. F...!

I'm still waiting for insurance to cover the other damage.

When you go to the doctor and say "Doc, when I do this it hurts real bad."

Then the doctor says, "Stop doing that and you'll be ok."

Stop going there. There's a million shipping facilities that manage not to tear up trailers on the regular. Go find one of those to offer service to.

Yes, then don't work at all. So, you don't have any money leftover.
Don't you know you have no choice? You still need to run. You can't pick and choose NOW. And they know it!

When something happens to your trailer when you are loading or unloading, you stop them and have them call a manager. You tell them what happened and have them fill out an incident report to pay for the damages.

The thing is I left since I didn't see it. Then after they unloaded I saw the damage. I can't take it to my insurance each time. Who would want a client whose trailer is run over every month? It seems like it now. I don't have nerves for this.
And then I still have to patch it up. I did it once last week. And then again.
How people survive in this economy for so long? One year, maybe, But it's second year and no end in sight and these things are happening all the time.

When I hear a bad noise or they are too rough. I ask to speak to floor supervisor. I state, that I must inspect for damage. Either I want in the dock or take everything off, I pull forward and inspect. When ever possible I am on the dock observing. If you don’t ask, you won’t be there. I tell ‘em company policy. It is bad out there. If you can spec your trailer to handle more damage. Higher scuff protection and puncture guard walls.

When I put the new conestoga on my flatbed, I told all forklift operators to stay off the side of my trailer. If they don’t like it tough ####..!!

Here is what I don’t understand about the stupid forklift operators and van trailers… unless you’re totally dumb and incompetent or just don’t care, you can easily side shift the majority of forklifts today. Instead of rubbing up against the trailer wall just side shift and set the pallet beside the other pallet with no damage.

And yes it can be done!! I’ve loaded 4000 super sacks on pallets personally side by side with no issue….

Says who? Yes I can pick and choose, and do. If a shipper is wrecking my trailer, I won't go there. It's not that complicated.

It's hard to see the damage when they put the pallets next to the wall. So, no. Often, you can't see it until your trailer is empty.
It's not happening only in one place. It's around Chicago. I go to different places as dedicated by shipper.

There is wording PLEASE STAY OFF THE WALLS. It's huge. They still hit the same side of the wall (right one). Maybe, they don't like the sign.

for the flat bed we used to have a piece of hardwood that would slide into the side pockets every few feet then keep moving it down the side

for a majority of what I do I actually load my own trailer, both with the reefer and the dump, I definitely put the first mark in the top rail of my dump trailer the very first load after not touching the old one for years….
