HI, I actually have no clue of whats going on, I do have an 2006 International Eagle 9400i equipped with 10 Sp tranny and Cummins ISX engine, like month and half ago, the air dryer gone, had replaced it with an after market one, that solve the problem for about two weeks, then the compressor is gone, have replaced with a reman bought it at Cummins dealer, as soon replaced the compressor started to replace governors valve (5) so far, I decided to go ahead and replace the air dryer once again and put a new governor again, I have made two loads since replace these components and bum, the problem again starts ok, the you start using the brakes, air pressure goes down and down and never come back up again, unless you replace the governor for a new one and you'll be able to work for a couple of days, this on going situation it is driving crazy, any ideas please??? Thank you all !!

Is your current compressor getting clean air from the engine intake? Check the piping to make sure everything is connected properly and your compressor isn't sucking dirty air or the pipe is collapsed. How did the last components fail? Any signs of oil contamination in the system. What brand of parts are you buying? Who is the "aftermarket" maker of the dryer? Check all your lines between the governor and the tank and air dryer for any blockages.

Thanks for the answer, compressor is getting clean air, no signs of oil contamination, no twisted or colapses hoses. Compressor purchased reman and Cummins dealer, no new ones available, air dryer is Wabco brand, and the governor valves are automann.
Last component failing was the governor, truck started working fine went from Jersey to PA and from there to Niagara falls, and on his way back started loosing air every time that driver uses brakes but not recoverin it, told driver over the phone, to replace governor and that way made his way back!

I never heard of Automann, we've only ever used Bendix for those. Bad batch of parts maybe? Maybe try a Bendix one? Take the air lines off at the governor and the wet tank, blow out the line and see if there is any rust particles coming out or something else that is getting into the valve and buggering it up.

Automann it is very common around here, anyway, yestarday took the truck to the storw we I have been buying all these parts, the checked everything, at the end of the day they told me that there was an stucked valve at compressor (new) that the have lubricated it and since they did that the truck have not failed again and that needed to try to see if that was the main cause. I took the truck out of the shop with a couple of spare Bendix governors just in case, will see what happend but I so have the feeling that the problem is the compressor and at a point will need to be replaced again under the warranty.

Thank you all for the time invested in trying to help me to solve the problem, very appreciated!

HeavyD.... I have a 2006 9400i and have a similar problem except with mine air build up takes longer than usual ....once built up it maintains air and air during braking is normal but as soon as I stop and let it idle my secondary gauge losses 30 lbs or more within 15 seconds. I have replaced dryer and govenor twice but still have air blow back to govenor which sounds like a air leak but was told is air going back to govenor and out bleeder valve hole.My mechanic spent 7 hrs trying to isolate the proplem and called International who told him either it needs a check valve at one of the tanks or maybe a new compressor head which you would think if it was compressor both primary and secondary would both lose air. That said he clamped off the lines to the air tanks one at a time to see if it would make a difference and no luck so he doesnt think its a check valve. Do you have any ideas what it might be ??

The secondary system supplies air to your steer axle brakes and all your air related accessories including air suspension and transmission. If the air still leaks down with the parking brake applied, (buttons pulled out) then your maxi's are ok. If the air only leaks down with the engine running and you have a Cummins ISX then you have a leak in the turbo actuator solenoid, line to the turbo, or the actuator at the turbo itself. I think the engine fan also gets it's air supply from the secondary system. Try to dump your suspension and see if the leak stops, if it does you have an air bag or line leaking. Some leaks are hard to find, I have had some leaks that are so bad they make no noise at all! Hope this helps!
