So your problem ended up being a bad turbo?

Can someone please go into detail of what he did? I've been fighting the exact same issue for 2 weeks and this is the exact same issue I've been dealing with

If it starts up normally after sitting a few minutes and runs ok briefly and then dies, this is usually caused from an air flow problem through the engine. Either intake or exhaust restriction. The original poster had ICP codes which I assumed to be part of the issue. If you have no codes, or no active codes, try to disconnect the intake and exhaust one at a time and retest.

I disconnected everything short of the turbo and have replaced so many things and no change, how could a turbo be the issue on that

i would think the bad turbo restricted the intake side of the engine eventualy choking it out. he didnt prelube the turbo when he put it on. almost a sure way to ruin turbo bearings. i just got a truck with the 164 fmi 1 yesterday. wont fire until the icp pressure hits 500 psi. long crank to start, but not always.
