THIS IS A MAXXFORCE 10 underside of motor. Why all these coolant leaks and where are they coming from? it was 30 degrees out.
I have always had the leak in egr cooler to overflow fitting since the egr cooler replacement.
first two pictures are behind radiator driver side.
next 4 pictures are underneath passenger side near front axle.

Generally hose clamps need to be tightened after the hoses settle in and compress a little, so it's normal to have to tighten them after a spell. Those spring clamps that you sqeeze together to pull them off, I don't like those. Mine always leaked. I just replaced them with a better quality bolt type clamp.
-
If you can spend the extra cash to buy the type of hose clamps with a spring inside the screw they will keep your hoses tight when eng, is cold then you will not have as many leaks?
-
Also, use a rachet and socket to tighten those instead of a screwdriver. You get better torgue on them.
-
Could you tell me the name of the parts leaking so I can tell dealer? Even ratchet type clamps are leaking.
Overflow cap has popped off twice. Previously had a pressure test and 15psi cap popped off at 9psi. Could it be related? Dealer attributed it to faulty overflow caps however I don't think that's the case.
Why is that egr cooler fitting leaking? It has always leaked with 2 previous egr coolers and this new one. -
In the top pictures is actually a thermostat in that housing. The housing can leak between the two sections. As for the rest, unless your engine is six months or newer every single hose that is removed to do a repair MUST be replaced!!! These engines are just too hot and the hoses harden up and will not reseal! It also looks like the vent hose from the egr cooler is over tightened and has split the hose. I never reuse the International style hose clamps either with the ribs. If you over tighten them they will cut the hose every time.

Could any of this cause radiator cap to pop off at 9 psi instead of 15?
Could I have a bad thermostat? Coasting downhill drops the temp gauge to 150 from 200 in seconds. I know the operating temp is always higher than 150 when running. -
Rad cap popping off at 9 psi is a bad cap. These engines do over cool because of the egr system, many of our customers install winter fronts to keeps the temps up.
-
As far as rapid decrease in temp (in summer) , one tech said thermostat , one said air in system? -
If the thermostat is stuck open it will hardly ever reach proper temps, but for sure take forever. They aren't hard to change, be a good idea to replace it for pm anyway. Yes, the neck could absolutely be oblong!
