International Prosatar/Maxxforce: Worthless junk!!!

  1. honestly, I'd rather have shore power. Many of my friends have APU's and all of the ones that have the fuel line plumbed from their main tanks claim huge fuel savings. Two of my buddies put separate tanks on specifically to run their APU's off of. They both say that the APU's use WAY more fuel than the manufacturers claim. They claim that if they had known the ACTUAL, HONEST COSTS, the real costs, from the maintenance and fuel on the APU combined with the price to purchase/install initially, they wouldn't have bought them.

Truck stop electrification, I think, would be great for a lot of guys. I know one driver who put a 600 dollar air conditioner on his roof and an Espar heating system in his truck, along with a generator on the frame that he did himself. He claims that 9 out of ten nights, he can find a place to plug in and rarely uses the generator.

Another driver that lives not too far from me uses power from his reefer unit to run his roof top A/C and electricity to his bunk for TV, laptop, etc. I'm not too sure how, though. He loves the set up.

I think if electrification was pushed more it could become the standard and you'd see idling really cut down.

Hebe, CEO of Freightliner who jumped to Cornbinder, can FOAD. I guess he has nothing to loose by badmouthing us O/Os, since 99.9% of us will never buy such a piece of ####t like a prostar. There's a reason guys pay more for Petes and KWs with Cats that get 5.5-6 mpg, because it makes no sense sit in the shop every week while a mechanic troubleshoots an issue that should have never occured with a truck engineered to last 50,000 mile and croak.

Nice how this guy runs down a family supporting wage of blue collar manufacting, due to "cost base of unions ". I personaly cannot get exited at the thought of buying a $125,000 piece a plastic, designed by idiots, and assemble by people making .50 cents a day. Lets see the top brass get replaced by that same cheap mexican laborforce. Quite sure the mexicans have someone willing to be CEO of a company that doesnt bash some of its potential customer base, like hebe does.

The prostar, as with any ugly truck, could have gotten a little play with O/Os, but not like this being built with such a severe lack of quality. Hebe, you keep building ####t, and we'll keep buying KWs and Petes. We'll be around longer than you will.

Do that and it won't be the smell of exhaust you smell. Nothing like a pee saturated lot on a hot, humid day.

  5. Well, while I'm sure I'm not in the same pay grade that this idiot is, I'm sure I've NEVER had a company get rid of me and he has.

How does such an azzwipe get so far up in a company???

I heard a rumor that JB Hunt has a contract to buy 1000 of the heaps per year for the next 5 years, with the Maxxforce 13. Can anyone confirm? Must have got a sweet (or sour) deal, depending on how you look at it....

International advertises the radiator and intercooler as being easily accessible with the front bumper that flips down. They also should advertise that it is easily accessible to cloven-hoofed animals!!! :biggrin_25514::biggrin_2559:
