Can you just set the trailer brakes and not the tractor? Would that keep the engine from shutting down?

People, this is just one example of the kind of crap you get when you let liberals, hippies, and tree-huggers overun the government. You got what you voted for America. Are you sorry yet?

Dude, as a full blown hippie and ###### proud of it (as well as an Army veteran and ###### proud of that, too) I have smoked mucho Mexican weed but I have never, ever bought a Mexican truck.

I remember this words about rice cars...

Now I can see that year by year Chenese trucks are better. They mix European and US trucks, like looking like mercedes SK frame with looking like Meritor axes, MAN F2000 cabine (by licensie) and Cummins engine with ZF tranny... anyway runs and cheapper US ore EU truck.

I was just put in a prostar with a maxxforce engine. After reading this thread Im not to happy about it. Previous truck was a freightliner columbia with a 435hp MBE. I thought that thing was a piece of crap and this maxxforce engine doesnt seem any better.

Maxxforce is MAN D20 engine. With OM460 you probably had parts supply delay problem and no good mercedes PLD engines mechanics problem... really Mercedes PLD system is one of the best systems.

Common rail is the Nightmare for me. Especially MAN CRD engines... weak thing is NPROP valve. We have to work on heavy duty CRD engines, MAN D20/D26/D28 and Renault DCI11 engine. Fortunatly DCI is discontinued, but MAN!!! OMG!!!!

It is not all! New Detroit Diesel CRD engines will be introduced in Europe with Mercedes label soon! So... yeah! A lot of work for mechanics!

It wasn't a parts problem or anything (well, only our shop would know that), its just both engines are gutless for the amounts we haul.

Low end torque is limited with electronics to save fuel and prolong engine life.

So to save fuel driver has to shift more frequantly.

All things you say are software things.

Mr D and others riding in prostar with Maxxforce 13 engines, keep us posted with your experience, ie fuel mileage, reliability, torque etc as many of us are trying to determine if the Maxxforce is worth a #### as it is has the appeal of not needing the DEF.
