The payroll has to be improved. The reforms have also need to be in place to protect the driver in terms of not being disposed over some stupid small stuff. If it's that 500 dollar dent in the trailer, take it out of the driver pay just like they did long ago in my time. If the driver is any good, he or she will not do it again.

 

Actually I agree with that. However I point towards the shipper and reciever who does not allow the professional to follow the law. They literally do not give a #### about a driver's problem regarding time.

Some of the worst problems I have ever had is not the damaged or destroyed load, being late or whatever. It's actually daring to say, enough is enough for today Im taking time to sleep in the truck and finish this tomorrow. Or they can unload it with forklift and we all will be finished in 15 minutes. But no. (That has to be a part of the reformation as well.)

 

They don't view it as their problem and they won't until the big guys start charging them for it and make it their problem, leave the government out of fixing it is all I ask.

 

They've had the ability to plug into your truck since they came out with Qualcomm in the 90s. They can also get damming info on you from Prepass/Ipass. They just dont do it much, or didnt. Maybe they are going to start?

 

Regardless if it's bs or not, you've really got to wonder.....is there a limit at which this #### just gets ridiculous?

 

That would be why you don't have Qualcomm or prepass/ipass don't make it easy for them to give you tickets for ignorant stuff, and yes I can see certain states attempting to retroactively give speeding tickets.

 

Never know, ,it could come to that. Cant stop Technology. Ive only had them plug into mine once back in 99. About all I got from it was a huge lecture at the time but it was a very dramatic presentation. lol

 

They just plug into the Qualcomm or actually right into the ecm? What'd they give you a lecture for?

 

Plugged right into the side of the ecm in the cargo hold area. I was on paper logs. They printed out the info, which didnt match my log book. After he took my log book and his print out back to his car, he matched them up. He then came back and said driver step out of the truck, so I did. He handcuffed me said I was under arrest for falsifying my logbook and put me in the car.He spent about 45 minutes going over the printout and logbook differences then told me I was lucky he stopped me because he was about to retire so he wasnt looking to add any notches to his belt but warned me not to let him catch me again.
