I use my apple I phone tethered to my laptop. 4GB a month for $45 and when it is tethered, no one can steal my service.

I usually park next to a hotel, Bestwestern works great. If its password protected, I simply call the front desk and ask for the password. :biggrin_25514:

My other choices, Lowes, Home Depot and Barnes and Noble... There's rarely a place where there is no free wi-fi nowadays.

I would worry about coverage... tried Tmobiles 4g and it sucked. I have verizon and it works great most of the places as far as phone service but if there is no service... means no internet.

Not sure who has internet everywhere, except satellite internet. I know there's some kind of service, 3g most of the time, most places, but I've been stock few times with just EDGE or no service at all.

Looks like they only have service in the major cities just like everyone else for 4g... don't know about you but I try to stay outside of the major cities for the night and get as close to my next stop as possible even if that means sleeping at a rest area or next to some hotel in the middle of nowhere.

I have an Android smart phone with verizon. I am required to have a data plan.

I use PDANET and tether to my laptop with the cable. It can also mask the tether.
