Best routes around are as follows:
West. Take Interstate 10 west to US 54 towards Alamogordo. Take US 54 to Kenworthy Ave (Exit 31) turn left onto F.M.3255. Follow across the Stateline(turns into NM273) into NM then west off the roundabout to NM404 which runs you to Interstate 10 just south of the weigh station.
East. Exit onto NM 404 (Exit 162) and turn left. Go east to the roundabout and take NM 273 south towards El Paso. Turns into F.M. 3255. Get onto US54 south towards Juarez and get on Interstate 10 East.
If you somehow miss 10 and go past, don't panic. Stay to the left, you'll run into Loop 375 and just stay on that until it loops back to interstate 10.
Loop 375 between interstate 10 and US54 is under construction so not a good bypass right now.
Interstate 10 through El Paso is closed until 6am tomorrow morning in both directions

Why is it closed ?

They're doing work at that new junction at Schuster/UTEP. the east bound is closed at Porfirio Diaz and trust me, you don't want to take a big truck through those streets!
-
West bound is closed at Executive Center and that area is far more truck friendly
-
i was in el paso about two months ago
got a lot of work done on the truck at $65/labor rate -
And you sure don't want to go through China and end up in Mexico by taking a wrong turn.
