ya do the same runs the regional guys do, just wider area and more time out. I started on the US east fleet, which was mostly from denver and east, tho a few times I went out to phoenix area. was really different from the last company i was with, where i would get a long load, and have it for like 3-4 days before it delivered, pulling reefer. when I got here, having a different load every day or every other day was like madness lol
-
Well I'm pulling reefer now but all southeast regional I like otr better
-
So do otr drivers do any longer runs at all
-
Was told that I'd be getting lots of drops in Tacoma yard doing I-5 corridor. Been here 2 months and had 1 (yes just 1) rest at home under load. The only time I hit the Tac yard is hometime...
Hope you guys have more trustworthy FMs. -
I wouldn't really count on being anywhere specific unless thats what the fleet is, the FM's i've dealt with already seem lost I wouldn't want to put my hopes up with anything they said lol
driveapbt Thanks this. -
Palazon are you getting miles? I think we are pretty busy on the 1-5 and interstate has no way of knowing what loads are going to be assigned to us daily so its really hard to predict a scheduled route unless your on a dedicated account. The 11 western drivers are open to go anywhere and its truck driving and our job as drivers is to go where the customer wants us. Really the FM has no control over that crystal ball its based on the customers needs and how they do business.

Palazon, you otr refeer or regional? I just take charge and start reminding them wed I wanna get home. I really push Thursday if im not heading towards home.. I have frank out of lebanon.. chris and james ran his fleet this week while he was on vacation.. these two have ran me hard this week.. frank is usually a little more reserved in my miles, I guess to get me home on time..
There is quite a trade off on my side..hometime or miles.. as long as I get 2200 my family lives good and gets to see me.. my only wish would be to getca dedicated with guaranteed home and holidays off. -
Fontana isn't as bad as Wilsonville, but its close. It won't be so bad once tgey get the old trailers out of there. My pickup is at Wilsonville. If you see an old dodge truck with the maytag man on the side thats my truck.

A long run for me is about a thousand miles. I go to Canada though and had a load that i picked up in Wilsonville drop in tacoma and kent, then over to Idaho then up to calgary and emptied in Winnepeg i think that was around 1400 miles
