An interview does not mean your in. It is only showing an interest in you. I know people that have had multiple interviews and never got the job. Don't ramble on like a school girl. Don't offer any information other than what they ask and can prove.
chalupa and DoneYourWay Thank this. -
Ok. I appreciate the info

Dress nice, be confident and like previous post said only answer questions you're asked...
And good luck! -
Thanks guys. I left about an hr ago. He told me im hired and prior the background and drug test will be approved which I know I wont have a problem. He says he's cleaning house at that terminal and he needs new blood to replace em. Hes hiring 3 drivers part time and asked if I would be willing to work at his other terminal when it gets slow at the home termibal. He said the background check should be back by end of today or tomorrow then he will set me up with a drug test then road test then im in. But he doesnt really know about the pay, claims its only 15 an hr. Is that true???? He also fired his operations supervisor which is why he was doin the interview instead.

Congratulations on the job. Just be on your toes though. I don't like the sound of cleaning house, fired operations supervisor, willing to go to another terminal, and not sure about pay? The pay sends up a huge red flag to me. The last place I left the VP hired me, told me I was the only CDL driver now had. He didn't know a #### thing about the regulations or the equipment other than where it was and where the keys were. He also mentioned that his DOT guy had recently just gone crazy and quit. Once I got to do a pretrip on a truck I understood why his DOT went crazy and quit. Since part of the job was dealing with the film industry, I told him I would continue to do that part but there was no way in hell I was driving that equipment.
DoneYourWay Thanks this. -
Sure does sound little iffy... Did you ask him what kind of benefits you'll receive probation period? (health insurance, 401K, raise etc...)
That $15 an hour is way too low for someone with 7 years experience unless its only for first 30-90 days...
Anyways, congrats on your new job and i hope it works out for you -
Yea I did he said hes not sure but he'll do some digging to get answers. I thought it was low as well
-
Sounds to me like he was using euphemisms:
"Cleaning house" - all my crew up and quit because I'm a useless prick.
"Gone crazy" - the DOT guy quit too because I was forcing him to look the other way when the equipment was bad and I refused to invest in maintenance.
You should pull a CSA score for the company and try to do more research. Go back and ask some tough questions. At the very least you'll go in there having earned more respect and a better situation.
Also, keep firing out applications and keep looking. Might be better to see what else is available before settling for this job.DoneYourWay Thanks this. -
Yea ive started to have sum suspicions about the whole situation. Maybe theres a reason why the drivers dont wanna work especially after taking that 15% give back
