I just worked my first week here at 510 and I must say I love it, but, I think I was told a little fib. The TM "now" says theres no opening right now unless one of the 9 guys quit. As was in the interview he told me that he was about to "clean house". One has 42 yrs. from what im told. I pray I dont end up like the other guys before me that worked till November then laid off! I wish they had line haul routes, I hate shreveport. ..lol

Thats another reason I tansferred. At 150 we had no line haul routes. They got back two though, both guys just run to 211 and stay ovenight then return next day. At the hubs and distribution centers is where all the linehaul routes are

oh...how not so good that cleaning house and new blood sounds. i'd be careful. very well could be that new blood was needed to replace old 20 per hour blood. if drivers and os were let go just as spring cleaning, that's a flag. what happens to you if he decides to do some cleaning next year?
be really careful with him. good luck

Well after being there now fof 2 weeks I found out that he was lying, hes not about to clean house. Told me that they would have to quit, and from the looks of things those guys are not goin anywhere. One guy has 42 years with the company. But strangly he hired another part timer like me and I only worked 3 days last week. Plus one of the guys says we'll be let go in November.

With a union job unless you completely mess uop you wont get fired... So I dont know how hes about to clean house either... Ive only heard of one guy getting fured without getting his job back. They finally had enough of him constantly messing up and they were at the point they couldnt do anymore. Some of the guys said the same thing to me but I made the list before they could let me go.

You only worked there like a month so I highly doubt your eligible for re-hire. Should've waited if you were moving

To bad that these people looking for jobs at a union barn do not do their homework first. These terminal managers will blow the smoke up your B-Hind and promise you the world. Go talk to a steward or your locals business agent first. Find out how this LTL game is played by the ones doing the work.
The only house cleaning being done is what janitor is doing.......

    ACH1130 Thanks this.
