Most states require authority for Intrastate cartage. Not many enforce it as long as you have ICC authority.

Check with the Indiana state IRP office or give OOIDA a call. There are only about 11 states (as I recall) that require intrastate authority. I don't remember if Indiana is one of those states. Texas and California are the two largest states which require intrastate authority.
Jerry12 Thanks this. -
Yes. http://www.in.gov/dor/4211.htm
Also look for business or tax filing requirements. Some states may require corporations to register with their Secretary of State as a foreign corp. Some may require a tax registration.
I found the Indiana carrier registration link with a Google search, but did not dig any deeper since I'm not interested in acquiring authority there. If you don't want to dig thru the website, there's usually a phone number somewhere to someone that will tell you all you need to do to haul intrastate there. Good luck. -
Wisconsin does/did in 2000. Not sure if it changed. I only had to pay once. Unlike Texas which is an annual cost.
double yellow Thanks this. -
Nevada, as a resident and home based in Vegas, required me to register as both intrastate and interstate with State Suckatery office. One time filing with no fees.
