Hello Group,
I will be entering driving school shortly, sorry to say but I have been lurking on this board for sometime now, but happy to say it has helped (you all) have helped me take the plunge. Still nervous but this is ok.
Thank you
Ed

Welcome to the forums, Ed. Good luck with school!

Hi Ed. I'm just coming back to Class A big-rigs myself, however, I've been a Pro driver and Trainer (Class B bus driver) for 30 years. I can tell you that your class ranking does matter. Some companies - the really good starter companies - will only take those with a 95-97% grade or better. So do your best in school and don't allow those "instant-pro" classmates to distract you. Your instructors are the ones to listen to. They are the ones grading you, not your fellow "instant-pros." If you are in a dormitory-type setting where you are living in or near the school, stay in your room and out of the bars! Save the party for after graduation. This way, you will attract top offers and arrive on the highway with confidence. As to the nervousness, those that say they are never nervous out there are either liars, or dangerous themselves! You'll learn to harness and trust those nerves to keep you safe. Good luck!
