I am an inventor and invented and patented a unique strong compact extension handle. As far as I can tell it is the most compact extension handle made. We currently make two, one that collapses down to 12 inches and extends to just under five feet, and one that is 28 inches collapsed down and extends to nine feet. It also features an I beam design which makes it a lot stronger than a standard round pole. The key feature though is that they are much more store-able than other extension poles that extend the same length when fully extended because our extension handles are usually about twice as compact when collapsed.
I was thinking it could be useful to truckers if we designed a number of different attachment tools that would snap on the end of the extension such as brushes, and window cleaning supplies. My questions are do you currently use an extension pole for any purpose such as cleaning windows, clearing off snow, washing the truck, or anything else? If so where did you buy it? And finally would a extension tool like described be of any use to you?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd use it. If it wasn't flimsy and was worth half a crap.

Thanks for your reply. The extension definitely is strong and not flimsy like traditional pole extensions.

I'm definitely interested in learning more. It sounds useful, but if it costs an arm and a leg, I'd rather stick with climbing up and cleaning my windows the old fashioned way.
Hooyman Thanks this. -
I would think the hopper guys would be all over this. Simply because you need an extension to sweep out the hoppers. There are many "heads" or attachments that would also be very useful that you could switch out. Hubby always carried a broom with an extension. One thing that would be useful to them, is a way to make it "lock" to the ladder. (yes people steal them) Ours were stolen many times.

Thanks for the input. The cost really would depend on how many attachments and if the extension was made out of plastic or aluminum. We currently only make them using a high grade aluminum so the cost for a five foot extension with a couple of attachments would probably be around $50. It could be made less costly but we haven't gone down that road yet.

need to mfgr an ext tool that will extend up to 9ft as it would reach up the side to wash trk and ctr of windows, must be durable, flexible for attachments and strong enough to withstand press on the handle for scrubbing
Hooyman Thanks this. -
Thanks for your input. We actually already make a 9ft extension that is very strong and would be perfect for what you referred. Currently we have a tree saw attachment for the extension and it holds up real well to sawing which I would think would take a lot more abuse than scrubbing windows. Basically all I need to do is design the various different attachments. Just trying to figure out if anyone would buy it before I go through all the trouble.

I'd use it if had a threaded end on it, so that I could attach different heads. Most notably, a squeegee. The squeegees that truckstops keep on the fuel islands are always getting torn up, or someone presses too hard and the cheap metal shaft separates.
I'd buy your product just so that I can have my own squeegee.
I'd also like to be able to attach a stack brush to it, and a regular brush.bullhaulerswife Thanks this.
