Well, you COULD buy a 1500 watt inverter and manually hook up the cables to the batteries on the truck when you need it..I don't think a separate battery would handle the "juice" a microwave takes..but everything you mentioned can be accomplished by buying 12 volt appliances..:biggrin_255: Good luck,-You will figure it out after your out there awhile..

Most folks I know need to idle their truck when using an inverter at max load to cook..most truck batteries are ok, but a jump is $$$.
Get a 12 adaptor for your laptop, and a cheap 200 inverter for a small flatscreen tv.
You will be to busy for much else....
A lunchbox cooker takes a while....but can reheat food/soups, etc....
You can buy 12 heated coffee mugs...
a thermo electric cooler is ok, but only good for 32-40 below ambient temp...slightly better than a cooler, so things are only ok for a few days or even 1 in the summer...
Freezing leftovers, then heating them in a lunchbox cooker is a $ saving option...sandwhiches are too....self heating meals can be found at some trucksstops...kinda like mre's..good if you overnight at a shipped/reciever/rest-area.
