    You are correct, any "household" cube frig will die fairly quickly. The 12V refrigerators built for trucks should last a long time, mine is an Indel, made in Italy is going on 19 years old. They are expensive, buy the type that can be transferred from truck to truck relatively easily. Pulls very little power.
    The non compressor types are junk.
