Invoicing - Best Practices

    I have scanner/printer in the truck.
    On my laptop I have folders by broker names. And inside of that folder I have rate following by loaf date and scanned bol following by load date (example JBHunt/rate01202018.pdf and JBHunt/bol01212018.pdf). I don't have folder for each load, but for each broker.

    As soon as I deliver the load and have signed bol ready, I would go to quickbooks and create invoice with prepared template, then hit email and attached those two other documents (and any other) related to this load then send it.
    By the time I enter new customer (broker) I make sure I enter correct address and email.
    Many times billing instruction is written on rate confirmation. Other times on carrier setup packet.
    Most of the times you can bill by email. Sometimes you'll have some specific way uploading them to their server. And rarely you'll have to mail original.
