Phone system never had anyone answer. Tried 4 different times and finally gave up before posting this and tracking down information on the website.

Yeah I just don’t have time to go to the post office and deal with all that. I like to do my job easy as I can. If the load paid ungodly good maybe I would try it but not an average load.

As much as I despise LS, I have a couple of guys that load for a few agents. We just e-mail the bol's and they pay. Of course they have their stupid 1.75/load "insurance" charge.

If the broker would had said that I would had stayed on the load. Just ignored my email and made me feel uneasy.

I do a good job of letting them know how I work and like for them to do the same in return.

That would be a feature of the card you get paid on. For example Landstar BCO's get paid on a ComData card and ComData has ACH as an available service.

    Oxbow and Siinman Thank this.

I don't blame you but I've never called a broker with an update regardless of what the RC says, Landstar included. I have no problem with tracking and calling and/or emailing when loaded and when delivered but if they want a check call in addition to tracking they can call me.

In other words, if LS's rate cons say this I've never done it and never had a problem.

But I don't blame you for dropping the load. I find lots of brokerages I've been with a long time have rules that are getting crazier and crazier. I wouldn't RE-sign up with a lot of them.

    This is what it said:
Check calls are required every morning by 8 am CST. Failure to do so will result in a $250 fine.
Drivers must call LANDSTAR upon arrival and departure of each shipping point and must call upon arrival at destination.

I would have no problem with that but I tend to drive until 12-2AM and then want me to call when they are tracking me. Just makes no sense and may not be something they push. But gonna guess since I never done a load for them they would push it or take the money if I missed the call.

On a different note I did find a load that was better paying and can still get home for New Years. That was the only reason I booked the load was to be home for New Years. This one goes to MA and has a day extra built into it so I can be home on New Years.

Thanks to everyone for replying and helping me out.

Yeah, that's BS. I've seen stuff like this and ignored it and been fine but typically on day runs where I'm delivered or on site by 0800 the next day anyway and never heard about it. First run though, agreed, with any broker.
