Is it a LS card or something?

    Siinman Thanks this.

Did a load for Landstar last week, had to install their tracking app. The load payed way above the current rates, so I decided to go with the flow.
Next morning I get a text from the agent asking for my location. I took a picture out the windshield and sent it to him with "I am here". Then not so politely told him to use the tracking I was required to have.
Never heard a peep from him for the next two days.

It is and they force you to use Transflo to get anything off it and of course they ding you with fees every time. I couldn't handle so many obstacles between LS and my money. I'm old school... I pick/deliver/invoice my customer directly and expect payment ASAP. LS just sees it as another way to profit.

That seems to be the norm when they have tracking requirements. Never use them across the board on all brokers.
    Love the response

Did you not ask when you signed on as a approved carrier?

These types of fees are not part of their Agreement. Only the basic things are like the card fees, postage, direct deposit stuff is. Everything else is agent specific. LS likes to put blame on the agents when it's beneficial to them. They're like franchises and all do things their own way. The one thing they all share is the common ground of the LS Agreement and that ghey blue star.

I signed on like 4 years ago and never ran a load for them. So yeah, but I figured by now they would have changed to what most every other brokerage is doing in the USA. No reason anyone that size should be doing paper invoices or paying some service to do so. We have Email for a reason, to speed up the process. The reason they do what they do is to control the money longer is my thought. Bet they make money off the cards they use as well.

Sure it works perfect for people leased to them like you but not so much for people like me. I run my own authority and do all the billing, booking, and paperwork. I do not have the time to waste on getting home to send out invoices In the mail.

You can send mail from any mail box in the country. They deduct $1.25 I believe from paper checks, which I make sure to negotiate any landstar load I do up, then I’m content with the $1.25 for postage and envelope as long as the load paid me what I wanted. So if it’s posted for $2200 and I get $2350, the $1.25 was more then covered and I’m content. They usually pay promptly.
