    well a few things may have happened.

    ** he could be in the early stages of dementia, he could have walked away, totally forgetting what a truck is, let alone how to drive it.

    he could have had a road rage incident, pulled over or the other vehicle forced him over

    he may have been killed by that above person or persons.

    it could have been a possible hijacking, when "they" found out is was not cattle, they took him away and well...killed him, since he may have seen thier faces.

    ** i have been reading lately that dementia is no longer an older persons disease......

    Being from Iowa, my best guess is that he pulled over to help the wrong person.
    Thats just how we roll in Iowa.
