my DOT is registered in Louisiana and I run hot shots. I'm stepping up to a rig and need an apportioned plate. Can my apportioned plate be Louisiana even if I have insurance in Texas?

Yes. You can have insurance in Texas with an apportioned plate from Louisiana. I have a Texas apportioned plate and my insurance is written in Georgia without any problems. Before my Georgia insurance, I was with OOIDA for several years with a Texas apportioned plate. I have never experienced a single issue. Hope this helps.
