This is the first paragraph of the IRS page that you linked. I put the pertinent statement in bold.
"A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is an entity created by state statute. Depending on elections made by the LLC and the number of members, the IRS will treat an LLC either as a corporation, partnership, or as part of the owner’s tax return (a disregarded entity). A domestic LLC with at least two members is classified as a partnership for federal income tax purposes unless it files Form 8832 and elects to be treated as a corporation. For income tax purposes, an LLC with only one member is treated as an entity disregarded as separate from its owner, unless it files Form 8832 and elects to be treated as a corporation. However, for purposes of employment tax and certain excise taxes, an LLC with only one member is still considered a separate entity."
On another note, does one have the ability to highlight text on this forum instead of using bold or text color?

So it actually depends on how YOU decide to handle the paper work. -
All you need on the W9 is company name on top line. Check box for Corp type. On mine it’s S. Company Address, EIN, and signature. As a corporation a 1099 isn’t required to be issued to you by anyone that pays your Company. It’s optional. Some ask if you require one. Some issue them regardless. Most don’t bother. You might get a few 1099’s. Just pass them along to tax preparer. They’ll staple them with returns.

If i can understand. A Single member LLC not treated as a corporation:
Use his personal name on line 1
Use his company name on line 2
Use his SSN or his personal EIN on Part I
The company not need a EIN for IRS, it is only needed for the company Bank account.
The question is: The brokers bank payments or 1099-NEC are to the Personal name.Attached Files:
