Is $ 10.00 Per Hour bad for Local Home everyday?

You do realize I was cutting up that low pay in my post right?

Also I live in the Northeast and generally gross $1,200 to $1,300 a week and my rent is a lot less then $1,000 per month.

Micky D won't be paying $15 per hour in the South. They will stay with the same wage they have been paying for the past 10 years. They don't raise taxes or pay in the South.

Driving is a pretty good job in TN and other rural southern states. TN is one of the largest trucking states for a reason....because it is the best paying job around for a High School graduate or drop out.
The starting pay for a Corrections Officer in TN is $27,000 per year, or $13. per hour. There are always openings and some overtime as well. It is the best paying job in rural TN. There are no factories in the small towns or rural areas. Just a few car plants in the bigger cities.

Anytime you can make $13 an hour in the South, you are being paid well, according to the poorer folks.

 

depends where you live in the north east too. my neighborhood alone see's rents as high as $800, just to start. it's a historic district, many Victorian homes of which I personally own one, that has been in my family now for about 70 years.

 

That's very true. I live outside of Harrisburg PA so my rent is pretty cheap $680 for a 963 square foot two bedroom delux apartment with a dishwasher and wash and dryer in the unit. If I lived in New England it would be about $1,000 a month for something similar and that's not living in a city either.

 

I have found the pay rate in the North to be about $8 to $9 an hour higher than in the South for some driving jobs. I have lived in IA, TN, and PA. I won't be going back to TN.....and it is not because of the pay difference.
Certainly the cost of living is higher in the Northeast in PA than in the South or Iowa. But it is offset by the higher pay scales for the most part, IMO.

 

It's low. Does it pay your bills? If so, then mash the motor!

That's true. You can also move somewhere that will pay you more as well. Something the OP should consider doing.
