They've been there a year and half on the grocery side delivering to gas stations target Walmart etc. the food service is hard work I'll be honest. It's going up and down a ramp with a hand cart. But if your athletic or ever played any sports then you'll make for sure

I took a load a few weeks ago Walgreen DC in PA and got to talk to a driver for one of the supermarket chain.
According to him he gets about .45 cpm but....they get pay for stops !! last year he says he gross 71.500 and with the new contract he should near the 77 Union job, six days work, one day off during the week.
    Good luck to you.

So, here's a thought for you on ramp work, your knees and back will take a beating over time. The friend I mentioned in my earlier post, has worked foodservice delivery for 25 yrs, Sysco, Shamrock, US Food and a local produce company. He's 46, two years ago had his right knee scoped, three months ago had his left knee scoped and a torn meniscus repaired. He's out of work 16 weeks, 8 weeks will he starts rehab. He also has back problems, he's in no way overweight or out of shape, but all those years of ramp work have taken a toll on his body. He wants out, the part that sucks is he's union so he stands to loose a lot. Oh, and watch out for slip and fall on a slick ramp, even with tread, they can still freeze up in the winter.

Sometimes it's not all about the money. Why do a job that you hate doing?

Thats probally as good as you will ever make in trucking if you dont wanna buy a truck that is.

I deliver to Walmarts and see these guys delivering all the time if u like driving and working in warehouse you should be fine.

They always have 2guys and everything is stacked on floor to the top mm of trailer and they build pallets at stores and move it to the stock area not sure if they got to do anything else to it after this they also have these plastic boxes they dolly off truck as well.

$60k to $70k is as about as good as its gonna get for a company driver maybe it has some good hometime or even local

60-70k a year is not enough for me to break my body down. I rather take my 50k droping and picking up loads and be happy.
