So, would it be safe to say, with me running a 550 1LW Brakesaver file which calls for 57's, but I have 58's so thats another extra 120hp on top of the 550hp rating PLUS another 50hp for the brakesaver AND, my hot fls/fts numbers ? Let me do the math......700hp+ about...... No wonder Im always in the passing lane on the hills![]()

Question 3-when you talk of 57, 58, or 59 injectors, does this have anything to do with the trim codes, or is that a different paramater? When I rebuilt back in the spring, including new head, injectors, etc. it was emphasized to get the proper injector codes put into the ecm.
After talking to different guys, and doing lots of reading, I have been a bit less afraid of pyro temps, and now let it run to 1000, rather than always backing off at 900-950. -
NO, the trim numbers are indicative for the injector it was set for. some like to set the famous 5232 and 6999 trim for all injectors. that unbalance's an engine. this is a way to get around the ecm Nazis by installing the so called bigger injectors. but you have to match the air flow (turbo) with the fuel flow (injector) and a few other mods as well. in my experience is a better setup than a hot ecm program. I have played and payed a lot of $$$$ to get where im at with the engines I run. it is all trial and error.
Diesel Dave and 04 LowMax Thank this. -
The 57,58, and 59 is referring to the injector part number. 10r-0957 is the number we are talking about for the 57's and you can figure out the other 2 from there.
Superhauler is right on with the trim codes. Each injector has a 4 digit code for giving them all an even spray but a lot of guys have been running the 5232 and 6999 on all 6. I ran them for years in mine and never had a problem but I lost a smooth idle.
As for weights on mine I'm anywhere from 85 to 90k with the 59 injectors and if it wasn't for water temps I wouldn't ever have to back off and that only happens when outside temps are close to triple digits. With my setup the pyro usually sits around 850 and maybe close to 9 on long pulls. With that said on my water temps I do plan on making adjustments on that next spring as in a bigger radiator or another cooler with fans on top of the transmission. I can't let my water temp trip the temperature light cause with more fuel means more heat and much over 205 on my gauge means number 5 is way to hot and will come apart. Found that out the hard way years ago with less hp and 58 injectors04 LowMax Thanks this. -
