I always like the 4-wheelers with headlights that turn on automatically when it is dark, but the taillights don't

Yeah those are clearly designed by a genius.

Ive seen several write ups inthe local paper about people getting bagged for dumb stuff because the police see them riding around with no taillights in the dark. Pull them over and find what else they can: figuring if you dont know your tailights arent on, do you know when your reg expires? (Thats the most common one i see in the blotter report)

I think a lot of times those are just those daytime running lights. Also, their dash lights are on, so they think they have their lights on, but the switch is off. They look at you like you're an idiot if you tell them to put their "lights" on. Because they are on (but they're really not).

my pet peeve is seeing someone (trucker or 4wheeler) with only one working headlight. It shows a certain sloppiness and apathy that just gets under my skin. If i were i cop i would pull everyone who i saw like that over. Ive known cops who shared the same pet peeve as well. I mean if you have some minor mechanical issue wrong that cant be seen by the outside world thats one thing, but with a headlight you are telling the world "hey! Look at me! Im incompitent, lazy and really dont care about my job/upkeep of my car! Look at me world! I dont give a ####!" Yeah, id love to ticket those idiots.

Agreed. Post trip , Pre trip inspections are supposed to take care of those things 15 minutes spent in a shop , or fixit yourself , there are if course the times when they go out while driving , but at the next stop , get it fixed if possible. Folks are way too big of a hurry if they can't take time to fix the simple stuff. Just an OLD FARTS opinion here though.

Get Night vision googles and remove all the reflective tape. No need for lights just drive fast

Lol , am I sensing sarcasm ? Be a hoot to get pulled over for speeding wearing those things. The officers reaction would be hilarious.

I rather see a truck with one bad light than a truck behind me with super bright xenon lights.
